The HWD Story
My journey into Bespoke Software Development February 3, 2016 |
In November of 2014, a local client called me. He happens to run a cleaning business, but he represents any number of businesses that do a variety of projects for their customers - some large, some small.
His dilemma was that, because some of his projects were finished in a day or less while others took several days, weeks, or even months to finish, and because projects weren't invoiced until they were finished, while costs were ongoing, he didn't understand from day to day how he was doing. Sound familiar?
In other words, he need help understanding his Work In Progress (WIP) . . . and more. Something more than a mere WIP report, something a normal accounting system can't do.
I listened to his problem and created a spreadsheet file that solved it. But the spreadsheet way was a fragile and clunky prototype, a good beginning but not good enough. There had to be a better way.
So I researched the state of the art in cloud-hosted relational database application development tools, picked the best one I could find, and transformed our fragile, clunky spreadsheet into a slick cloud-hosted scaleable database application that is now ready to help his business grow and thrive. Now he compares the database app to a Corvette and the spreadsheet to a Model A.
Since then I've developed it further into a suite of applications especially designed for small single-phase jobs, large multi-phase projects, architects, automotive shops, general contractors, web designers, real estate agents & brokers, real estate investors, and a stand-alone module strictly for Time Management that can be added to any of the above.
I'm sharing this story with you because based on what you do, I have a feeling you might relate.
Because he needed to know "How We're Doing" I decided to call it HWD for "How We Did", "How We're Doing", and "How We'll Do." In other words, it is so thorough and current that it can help you understand your financial past, present, and future in a way that traditional accounting can't. This puts you ahead of the curve and the competition, and positions you to maximize profits, grow, and win.
To explore the app, click here. I hope you'll have a look around, then contact me for a complimentary, no-obligation demonstration, either in person on site or at a nearby coffee shop, or remotely via Teamviewer.com or Join.me.
Please have a look, then contact me soon. I'll also do my best to follow up. Thanks for your attention!
